Fairmont Dubai Hotel Amenities
We landed in Dubai and filled up two cabs for a short drive to the Fairmont Dubai (fortunately, the Fairmont Dubai is centrally located). When we arrived, we were welcomed out front by friendly valet and super helpful bellhop who assisted with our luggage. This was especially nice since it was hot outside. From the very beginning, we could tell that we were in good hands at the Fairmont Dubai.
After a smooth check-in process, we were guided to our rooms and appropriately informed about the hotel amenities. As a family of six, we were impressed by the spacious two-bedroom suite and greeted with fresh fruit and personalized desserts. A simple, yet often overlooked, detail was that we had plenty of water bottles without the high price tag that some high-end hotels charge for that most basic necessity. A major bonus was the view from our living area — the amazing Dubai skyline headlined by the famous Burj Khalifa. Our beds were comfortable and the oversized rooms helped with luggage and belongings that sometimes don’t get put away into drawers during a short two-night stay.
Exchange Grill
Our first night, we ate at the Exchange Grill onsite at the hotel.  Our family is made up of six carnivores, and I’m not sure we will ever be satisfied again after eating at Exchange Grill. Wow!  The ambience is New York chic…contemporary caricature art on the walls by Senatori, a fluid chandelier, and a wall of real roses treated so they last a year. Beautiful and fascinating! I t was hard to decide because the non-steak options we heard were very good. However, the premium cuts of beef were too hard to turn down. We feasted on Premium Gold Angus and Kobe AA9 filets and chateaubriand, paired with creamed spinach, sweet potato fries, mixed salad with parmesan and avocado and roasted asparagus.  The beef was superbly flavorful and the texture was like no other. It was an effortless delight to chew each piece. They only thing that would have made it better was to have more! Both grades of beef were supreme, but if you have spare change, the Kobe AA9 may be the finest beef you ever eat.
Around Fairmont Dubai
Getting to the Dubai Mall and around the city is super easy from the Fairmont. There is easy access to the metro across the street and anything (even the Palm Jumeirah) is an affordable taxi ride away. As we planned our activities, the Fairmont concierge was well informed and super helpful — especially with navigating the city during Ramadan.
Our lasting impression of the Fairmont Dubai is that it feels like a really nice home away from home. In fact, during the full breakfast buffet one morning, we met a family that lives in the adjoining residences and on a daily basis, they get to enjoy the restaurants, gym, spa, pool and welcoming comfort of the lobby. From time to time, we stay at family resorts which can feel like Disneyland on a crowded day. There are also other trips when we’ve chosen a business hotel but we get strange looks or feel like misfits with our children. With the Fairmont Dubai, we got the BEST of both worlds: spacious comfort with a hotel staff that is in tune with our needs and responsive to our requests.
