Things to do in Lompoc California
Just up the coast from Santa Barbara is the little wine country of Lompoc, California. It is full of beautiful agriculture and home to beautiful flower fields. We loved the artistic feel prevalent throughout the city and the history that surrounds it.
Here are the activities we would recommend in Lompoc, California.
What to Do
-
Mural tour in Downtown Lompoc
Download a map from the ExploreLompoc website and begin your tour around downtown. Around every corner covering the wall is a piece that tells a new story depicted by local artists. There are stories of America, stories of Lompoc, and depictions of the current beauty found in Lompoc. We were able to watch as one mural was completed by local artists. It was truly inspiring!
Little Global Adventuress Recommends: A stroller for cruising around and finding hidden gems! -
La Purisima Mission
We spent our Sunday afternoon at the La Purismia Mission learning about the early inhabitants and exploring the park. So much history preserved and restored here. The visitors center on site was also really informative and had an interactive display for kids! Make a day out of it and bring a lunch to eat before or after your exploring—There are great hiking trails as well!
Little Global Adventuress Recommends: Running around to look at all the livestock living on the mission grounds! -
Jamala Beach Park
30 min outside of the city but worth the drive to find this amazing place for picnics, surfing, bird watching and more!
-
Outdoor activities
There are so many activities available in this valley–Hiking, Golf, and Skydiving!
-
Lompoc Wine Trail
Check out the wine tours available on the Explore Lompoc website.

Where to Dine
Our first stop in Lompoc was at Sissy’s Café! Right in the heart of downtown Lompoc, this Café is bright and refreshing! The food is absolutely delicious as well! We appreciated their knowledgeable and friendly staff! They are famous for their coconut cream pie—sadly they were out, but their Berry Trifle was equally delightful!
This old Italian restaurant was one of our favorite dinners during our entire trip! The atmosphere truly takes you into the world of Italy, as does every detail in décor and on your plate. The pastas are home-made and delicious! We loved their beautiful breads as well.
Little Global Adventuress Recommends—A cheesy pizza, so good even mom and dad can’t resist!
