Oregon Getaways

As part of our Pacific Northwest Getaways series, we are discovering many exciting destinations in Oregon.

From 363 miles of coastal beauty to volcanic mountains, deserts, and crystal clear lakes, visitors find a variety of landscapes here.  We’ve seen spectacular waterfalls, beach towns, Columbia River Gorge, the Willamette Valley, urban hikes near Portland, with more hiking trails around Mt. Hood’s 11,245 ft peak.

Whether you want to wind surf the Gorge, golf at one of Oregon’s 200 golf courses, hike the Lewis & Clark Trail, surf or cycle along the coast, or raft the Hell’s Canyon rapids, there are several activities to choose from.  And there are Oregon’s Seven Wonders:  Mt. Hood, Columbia Gorge, the Painted Hills geological layers at John Day Fossil Beds State Park, Smith Rock State Park with its 3,000 ft. volcanic ash towers in the desert, as well as the “Little Switzerland” of Oregon – the Wallowa Mountains 10,000-ft peaks, and the deepest lake in the USA, Crater Lake, 1,943 ft deep, and the beautiful Oregon Coast!

Here’s a list of our favorite destinations in Oregon with our recommendations of what to do, where to stay & dine & spa.

Good to note:  This is a growing list and we will be adding more destinations as we explore this incredible State of Oregon.
